This is a back to school fashion guide. I used pictures of me and my clothes to give examples =D
What this is, is a solid color sleveless dress that may have cost me about $10. Nothing fancy. I put over a purple shirt with loose sleeves and it creates the image of a yellow skirt. Find a shirt that has a V-neck so you can see the dress at the top as well. Also, I added a little belt with a pop of orange that sits slanted on my hips and is on top of the shirt all the way around. As you can see I did not wear a necklace with this outfit because it would take the focus off the belt. The shoes that I am wearing are just basic tan sandals with a hardly noticably blue strap. Shhhh.
This next oufit is a strapless dress with an orange hollister shirt over it. Because Hollister becoming a "everyone looks alike" look, the shirt doesn't seem any good. Well, you can still use it, as you can see. Just in a creative way. This also has a V- neck so you can see the dress at the top as well. Because there is no belt, I have added a green necklace. Once again, the tan sandals.
In this outfit, it is the same dress as before. This shows how you can wear clothes with different things. The cute little green jacket is left opened. That's because, if you button it up, the high wasteband on the dress causes the dress to poof out awkardly where the closed jacket hits it. Gotta look like ya got a waist, girl Also, I used the same green necklace as before, but I unwound it to only one long loop to compliment the open jacket. Once again, same tan sandals.
In this outfit, there is solid color brown shorts and a solid color red shirt. Make sure you buy your shirts long enough so they stretch beneath the top of the pant. It makes your waist look longer. Add a pop of a different color flat that compliments the shirt color. It doesn't have to be a solid, but dominatly covered in one color. Make sure the shorts stay a less obvious color such as brown, tan, white, or even black. Also, do not add jewerly, since the two solid colors is enough.
This last outfit is not for school, but for certain events: dates, important dinners, etc. The dress shown above is more of a summer/fall/spring thing. Find a dress that has a simple, but not crazy pattern. This one actually has black polka dots, but it's hard to tell. Don't buy a hoe dress, haha, get one that's slightly above your knee and doesn't reveal too much. For sophistication, find a dress that shows a bit of collar, such as this one. Although you can't see, because of my hair =P Sorry. Find a high heel shoe that you can walk in. The color should be the same color as the less dominate, less obvious color in the dress. If you do add jewelry, no huge beads, keep it simple.
